how we do it
We love walls. Long halls and small alcove walls. Bedroom and sitting room walls. Dining room and foyer walls.
When it comes to your walls we can serve you in any design capacity, selecting prints, mats and/or frames. Your call, our pleasure.

When you select art, you're looking for pieces to match the taste, space and style of your project. We make it our business to have so many subjects, colors, and sizes that you can find just what you need. Everything from prints and posters to originals. From old masters to contemporary artists.
Here's a tip when you're reviewing catalogs: “image size” is the size of the art itself; “paper size” is the size of the sheet on which the art is printed. Use these dimensions to determine size, rather than how the piece looks on the catalog page. And don't forget that your full-size image can vary from the catalog color.

The mat is both decorative and functional. It focuses your eye on the image by serving as a buffer between the art and the frame, as well as between the are and the wall. Darker colors add drama and separation from neutral walls: lighter or neutral colors offer maximum versatility because they go with anything and never go out of style.
In addition, a mat separates the print from the glazing. This eliminates the potential for trapped water vapor in humid environments and protects the print. When you select multiple mats, plan on a standard reveal of 3/16” on the inner mats.

Every picture needs a frame that's in balance. This requires the right finish, profile, size, and scale. If the frame is too dramatic, elaborate, heavy or big for the picture, all you see is the frame. On the other hand, if the frame is too reserved, plain, light or small, the impact of the picture is lost.
Will your frame coordinate with its setting? Do you need contemporary, classic, or antiqued? Is it substantial enough to handle the weight of the piece, and the right scale to harmonize with the size of the piece?

Although glass is the most common glazing product – and the lowest cost option – there's UV glass, reflection control glass, acrylic and other choices, each with its own benefit. Regular glass is just fine for most hospitality project, but when you need protection from fading caused by artificial or natural light, specify UV glass. Reflection control glass minimizes glare in highly-lit areas, and acrylic is the lighter, safer way to protect large pieces.

We hope our step-by-step guide helped you find your framed art solution. It's our pleasure as well as our job to find the “Yes!” solution you're looking for. If you haven't seen it yet, or if you need advice on putting the project together, please call.
We work with a large number of print, art, and framing sources. It isn't possible to include all of their catalogs with each shipment of reference materials. Are we genuinely happy to answer your questions?
